Money transfer company MoneyGram has announced it plans to aid victims of Hurricane Patricia by donating and waiving its transaction fee for anyone sending money to an account in Mexico whether via kiosk, online or storefront, according to a press release.

MoneyGram is donating $25,000 to AmeriCares to support the immediate relief efforts. AmeriCares helps provide supplies to prevent diseases and malnutrition.

From now until Nov. 23, MoneyGram will offer free transactions for U.S. customers who want to send money to a Mexican bank account. In addition, the company will offer free transactions for anyone who donates to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief from now through Nov. 30.

"Right now, our top priority is enabling family and friends the opportunity to provide monetary assistance to those who have been affected," said Pete Ohser, MoneyGram's executive vice president, U.S. and Mexico. "We hope these efforts will make it a little easier for family members living in the U.S. to quickly provide their loved ones in Mexico with the funds they may need immediately, as well as aid in recovery efforts."

Donations can be made online or at any MoneyGram kiosks or locations.
