Mobile app could boost print conversion rates on Kodak kiosks

December 13, 2013

Lee Palmer, Kodak Alaris's European general manager for Personalized Imaging, hopes to double the amount of images printed through Kodak kiosks.

According to an article on amateurphotographer.co.uk, the planned January launch of a mobile app will allow for users to send images straight from their smartphone to a Kodak picture kiosk.

A similar feature is currently available for Facebook and Instagram users, but the autonomous Kodak app would streamline the process. The company also plans to extend the mobile printing service to tablet computers, the article reported.

"There's going to be a whole generation who never buy a camera.... Smartphones — that's where the mass consumer is at," Palmer said.
