The Lake Agassiz Regional Library in Moorhead, Minnesota, is offering six legal assistance kiosks throughout its seven counties thanks to CARES Act federal funding, according to an inforum.com report.
The kiosks allow users to access legal resources and are being provided through the Minnesota Legal Services Coalition, which provides 250 kiosks statewide. Users can also apply for civil aid services, attend remote court hearings and attend meetings with attorneys.
Funding for the kiosks was made available by the CARES Act. The kiosks "will expand access to free legal services for vulnerable populations," a news release stated.
The kiosks, available in Crookston, Bagley, Fertile Moorhead and Detroit Lakes, are ADA accessible and will provide translations from English to Spanish, Somali and Hmong.
