Bike-share company Nice Ride has plans to add new key kiosks to the University of Minnesota and Twin Cities locations, according to local news source the Minnesota Daily

The installation will enable users to retrieve a key at the kiosks for a $3 fee. The key will provide access to the bikes via a key receptor. The key is optional, but designed to streamline checkouts by allowing members to bypass entering the five-digit code at checkout kiosks.

The first key kiosk is currently housed at the Hyatt Regency on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis.
