DTE Energy has announced plans to install its bill-payment kiosks in additional water departments throughout Michigan. Since its launch last year, it has recorded more than 131,000 transactions, according to a press release.
Customers can pay their electric of natural gas bills with credit/debit card, cash, mobile payment and check. The kiosk also provides an option for authorized pay agents who charge service fees to customers."We always are looking at ways to make things easier for our customers," said David Johnson, vice president of customer service and marketing, DTE Energy. "Our customers told us they would like more options to pay their bills. The kiosks provide an ideal option for thousands of our customers who need to pay their energy bills with cash, or who lack reliable transportation to travel to a payment center."
DTE Energy partnered with data processing company DivDat to develop the technology for the kiosks. "The team at DivDat used its expertise to create a convenient, easy-to-use tool that eliminates wait times and has a 98 percent customer satisfaction rate," Johnson said.
DTE Energy currently has 25 kiosks located at DTE payment centers and Rite Aid locations in Detroit, Centerline, Grand Rapids, Kentwood, Mt. Clement, Pontiac and Taylor.
