Michigan city introduces automated parking

September 27, 2019

Flint, Michigan is home to an automated parking system — the Flint Auto Park — that allows users to check their meters using a mobile app and pay for more time, according to an mlive.com report, citing a Flint Downtown Development Authority press release.

Users can pay by credit card using the app by entering their parking spot number or by depositing change in the meter. The meters allow up to five minutes of free parking.

The old parking meters have been covered up and will be removed. The previous parking system was installed seven years ago.
