Mexicans to access Global Entry kiosks

November 15, 2011

The United States government announcedTuesday that Mexican citizens may now use Global Entry, the trusted traveler program that operates via kiosks at selected international airports.

The program for Mexico should be running in the first six months of 2012, according to U.S. Ambassador Anthony Wayne.

Global Entry kiosks currently exist in 20 U.S. airports, but in 2012 several more are expected to be installed in Mexico City and in the Mexican resort area of Los Cabos, Wayne said.

To sign up for the program, a traveler must submit an application at www.globalentry.gov along with a $100 fee. Applicants must have no criminal record.
