Memphis, Tennessee utility payment kiosks go offline over security concerns

November 28, 2017

Memphis Light, Gas, and Water payment kiosks have been taken offline on account of security issues, according to WMC-TV. Customers can download a new MLGW payment app, pay by phone, go to one of the utility's five community offices or visit MLGW-authorized pay agents operated by Firstech.

Some customers have said not being able to use the kiosks presents an inconvenience.

TIO Networks, which has operated the kiosks in four of MLGW's community offices and at more than 300 locations throughout Shelby County, announced on its website that operations have been suspended due to security concerns.
