MARKHAM, Ontario - Fans attending the Stanley Cup quarterfinals can have their pictures taken with hockey great Mario Lemieux, thanks to new photo kiosks.
Mario Lemieux doesn't even have to be there.
Power Interactive Media Inc., a Markham, Ontario, Canada developer and marketer of interactive kiosks, is setting up its entertainment photo kiosks in the Mellon Arena, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
These Mario Lemieux-branded kiosks are on hand for the National Hockey League's Stanley Cup match between the Penguins and the Washington Capitals. Those not attending the playoffs can still have a photo opportunity. The company plans to roll out a network of Mario Lemieux kiosks throughout the Pittsburgh area during the next several months.
Power Interactive Media Inc. was formed to develop and manufacture a digital photo-imaging module to showcase a point-of-purchase advertising delivery system.
Its photo kiosks let consumers put themselves in the picture with their choice of celebrities. The kiosks use images licensed from the National Football League, World Wrestling Federation, National Hockey League, Mattel and Universal Studios. In addition to photo revenue, the kiosks generate revenues from corporate advertising, data collection and consumer entertainment.
