Lucidiom announces fixture systems for photo kiosks

August 11, 2005

VIENNA, Va. - Lucidiom Inc., creator of the Automated Photo Machine, announced in a news release the launch of APM Merchandise Systems, a modular line of retail fixture solutions designed to suit a variety of retail settings, including grocery, pharmacy, mass-merchant and independent stores.

"Photofinishing doesn't exist in a bubble," said Lucidiom president and chief technical officer Steve Giordano Jr. "That was true with film, and it's just as true today in the digital age. What APM Merchandise Systems provides are various digital photo kiosk fixture solutions for retailers who want more out of the floor space they've dedicated to digital photofinishing.

"Food stores, for example, typically sold film adjacent to their film drop box. This was all embodied in what the industry knows as an `end cap' solution. We've replicated that model with APM Merchandise Systems, and the end cap is but one solution we've configured. Now, the retailer can sell batteries and media cards adjacent to their APM. A pharmacy's needs might result in a more comprehensive, photo category solution and we've designed fixtures for that, as well. Just like our open architecture APM software, APM Merchandise Systems can be customized for the particular client, so it's their retail solution, not ours."

Giordano added that Lucidiom has created a solutions matrix for APM Merchandise Systems, which will aid retail clients in determining the best store fixture configuration based on key factors, including square footage allowance, staffing level, number of APMs or photo kiosks, system output options and more.
