Lionsgate has signed an agreement with Redbox making its content available at Redbox kiosks the same day as retail sell-through dates, according to a press release.
"Lionsgate has consistently shared our commitment to making content accessible to consumers," Galen Smith, CEO of Redbox, said in the release. "Thanks to our prolific footprint, and value proposition, Redbox makes new-release content more accessible to millions of consumers nationwide."
"Redbox is a longstanding and valued partner," said Lionsgate President of Home Entertainment Ron Schwartz. "We are pleased to extend our relationship with them and remain committed to delivering a broad portfolio of premium content across an ever-expanding array of linear and digital platforms."
By the end of 2017, Redbox will have more than 41,500 kiosks nationwide, due to a robust national expansion of 1,500 net new kiosks this year, with more planned in 2018.
