LinkNYC kiosks serve up to 5M users

LinkNYC Wi-Fi kiosks in New York City are getting plenty of use. As of September, the company reported having more than 5 million registered users who have conducted 1 billion sessions at the city's 1,700-plus units, according to msn.com. Users are making more than 500,000 visits a month.

The kiosks, which display paid advertising, have barely delivered the minimum payments guaranteed to the city by CityBridge, the consortium that operates the kiosks.
