Lidl is launching an enhanced self-scanning feature, integrated directly into its Lidl Plus loyalty app, which the company states will "transform" the in-store shopping experience. This initiative will undergo testing in four stores before a wider rollout in 2026, according to a Birmingham Mail report.
The discounter aims to provide customers with a more streamlined checkout process through this digital evolution. "This marks a significant leap forward in our digital evolution," Ryan McDonnell, CEO at Lidl Great Britain, told the news outlet. "Integrated into Lidl Plus, it's designed to offer customers a smarter, faster and more flexible way to shop."
