Lidl Great Britain launches integrated mobile payment feature through Lidl Plus app

Lidl GB has launched Lidl Pay, a mobile payment feature built into its Lidl Plus rewards app, as part of the retailer's ongoing investment in technology and innovation, according to a press release.
The digital wallet allows shoppers to make secure, contactless payments using their smartphones while automatically redeeming Lidl Plus coupons and offers at checkout. The feature is available nationwide and follows the rollout of self-checkout options across Lidl stores.
"The integration of payment functionality into the Lidl Plus app represents a step forward in our digital evolution," Shyam Unarket, customer relations director at Lidl GB, said in the release. "We are committed to investing in technologies that simplify the customer journey and offer greater flexibility in how people shop with us."
Lidl said its active Lidl Plus user base has grown by more than a third in the past year, reflecting rising engagement with the app's personalized rewards and digital features.
