LEID Products has rolled out two Express Library locations for the Granville County Public Library system in North Carolina. The Express Libraries provide access to library materials for those who live in more isolated areas of Granville County, the announcement said.
The Express Libraries consist of LEID's standalone iLibrary computer kiosk with connections to Granville County Library's online card catalog. In addition, LEID's Access.it electronically controlled lockers with keypad will store library holds. When library users request a book, it can be delivered to one of the sites and placed in a locker so that the user can access it with the specific code. A book drop will also be available for patrons to return their items.
"We're excited about the possibilities this system will provide our library users," said Granville County Library Director Tresia Dodson. "These are the first installations of this type in North Carolina, so we are hoping they will generate a lot of excitement."
