Lazenby Group, a manufacturer of self-service kiosks, has secured funding from NPIF II – Mercia Debt Finance to expand production and facilitate the global rollout of its "SafeTouch" kiosks, according to a press release. These kiosks integrate UVC light technology to self-sanitize surfaces after each use or shift, aiming to enhance public health and safety in high-traffic environments.

The SafeTouch kiosks, designed for sectors like retail and hospitality, utilize UVC light to inactivate bacteria and viruses on their surface in approximately 38 seconds, eliminating the need for manual cleaning or harsh chemicals. This marks a significant advancement for businesses prioritizing hygiene in public spaces.

The investment will support the construction of a 8,000-square-foot facility at Lazenby's Hull headquarters in East Yorkshire, UK, adding an assembly line and potentially creating up to 30 jobs within the next five years. This expansion follows a major contract secured with Collins Aerospace, a global airport services provider, for the worldwide installation of SafeTouch kiosks at airports.
