Kudos launches digital media system in UK retail outlet

September 15, 2003

LONDON -- Kudos Digital Group, which has developed Kudos remote-management software for digital media and kiosk networks, has launched a digital media solution at Bullring as part of its official opening.

Bullring has 28 plasma screens strategically placed throughout the shopping destination that display retailer advertising, promotions, Bullring information and branding. Bullring is a new retail "environment" containing two flagship department stores, 16 major space units, more than 140 shop units and a variety of cafes, bars and leisure facilities.

According to a news release, each of the 61-inch screens is individually controlled and presents content scheduled over eight channels by the Kudos system. The goal is highly targeted, relevant content that engages customer awareness and captures the audience at its purchase-decision point.

Immedia Systems, a Kudos partner, has implemented the Kudos end-to-end management system that provides automated scheduling and monitoring of network health.

Bill Ives, IT director of the Birmingham Alliance joint venture, developers of Bullring, said, "The digital media network has been fully operational, enhancing the shopping experience and generating advertising revenues from day one. Retailer feedback indicates that customers are noticing and reacting to the content; we are very satisfied with the immediate result."
