ATLANTA -- Eastman Kodak (NYSE:EK) is testing 500 digital-camera printing stations in the Atlanta metro area to determine its marketing strategy for the technology, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Customers can use the printing stations to edit and print images from a digital camera and order photographs from Kodak. Half of the stations, which will be tested for nine months, are located in photo stores, groceries, drug stores and retail outlets such as Eckerd, Kmart and Target. The stations are also being tested in convenience stores, hotels and electronics stores, according to the report.
Kodak predicts 20 percent of U.S. consumers will own a digital camera by the end of the year.
