ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Participants and fans attending this year's Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, will be able to share the Olympic experience with family and friends through digital photography and kiosk technology provided by Eastman Kodak Co. (NYSE:EK).
As part of Kodak's Winter Olympics initiative, Kodak will present the Kodak Picture Planet Experience, a mobile entertainment and learning center. The center will feature interactive kiosks where visitors can digitally transmit photos and Kodak Picture This postcards around the world. The center will also feature a retail store and Olympic-themed souvenir photos.
The Kodak Picture Planet Experience is part of an overall Olympics package launched by Kodak, an international sponsor of this year's Olympiad. The company's Web site, Kodak.com, will offer daily pictures, postcards, and access to a six-pin commemorative set honoring great Olympic moments of the past.
"From now throughout the Games, we will introduce new stories, pictures, and information to help people share pictures, share their lives, and learn more about taking great pictures," Bob LaPerle, Kodak vice president, said in a news release.
Kodak's digital photography kiosk project is the kiosk sector's largest deployment, with more than 35,000 digital centers in place.
