ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Karen Smith-Pilkington, an executive in the consumer imaging division at Eastman Kodak Co., has been named president of the company's professional unit, effective Nov. 16. The consumer imaging division oversees the company's kiosk program.
Smith-Pilkington, who has been with Kodak for two decades, is a company vice president and has been serving as general manager of Kodak's output products business in the consumer imaging division. She replaces David Swift, who is leaving Kodak's professional unit to become executive vice president of Whirlpool Corp.
"Karen's understanding of the needs of the professional photographer and her wide-ranging management experience make her the ideal candidate to lead Kodak professional," Daniel Carp, Kodak chairman and chief executive officer, said in a news release.
The consumer imaging division has deployed one of the largest projects in the kiosk industry, installing more than 35,000 photo development and customizing kiosks worldwide. Rick Rommel, Kodak director of digital retail systems, is president of the industry trade group Kiosks.org Association.
