Kodak enhancing digital photography system

May 20, 2002

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- First there was digital photography. Now, Eastman Kodak Co. (NYSE:EK) has introduced what it is calling an easy digital photography system. With the introduction of its enhanced EasyShare system on May 21, Kodak officials say obtaining high-quality digital prints through kiosks and other electronic means will be simpler and more efficient.

The new system integrates the widest range of printing options, involving home, online, and digital kiosk options. Last year, Kodak introduced the initial EasyShare system, which made it simpler to transfer photos from a digital camera to a computer.

The new system integrates Kodak's new EasyShare software - which is designed to simplify the way users organize, print, and distribute their digital photos - with the company's EasyShare CX4230 Zoom Digital Camera.

"We've used our technology to make the consumer experience better, not just to add features for features' sake," Willy Shih, Kodak Digital and Applied Imaging president, said in a news release.
