TV Tuner integration for digital signage and kiosk applications as well as an improved user experience are part of the latest KioWare kiosk software updates from York, Pennsylvania-based Analytical Design Solutions Inc.
ADSI's Version 7.2.0 of KioWare Lite, KioWare Kiosk Basic and KioWare Full with Server lock down the operating system and desktop of Windows-based devices used in kiosks. KioWare is compatible with Windows tablets and desktops, and is also available for Android devices.
For the latest release of its software, KioWare has redesigned the virtual keyboard and docked it below the text, clear of the entry forms and screen. The new version also uses the device's video card to increase the speed of graphic intensive displays.
"We have listened to users and dedicated many of the new features to improving the end user experience," Bryan Bosley, ADSI's director of technology for KioWare, said in a statement.
Support for TV Tuner is included in KioWare Kiosk Basic and KioWare Full with Server (for Windows), enabling entertainment to be brought to kiosk displays. These versions also offer the option of using security devices such as kiosk mats and motion sensors to set up a warning dialog before ending a user session.
ADSI last released an update of KioWare in January 2014.
