Kiosk software provider Kioware will showcase its Android kiosk software in a demonstration at the Kiosk London expo October 15 to 16 using Applied Device Technologies PROPORT tablet, according to an announcement.
The company’s tablet is Android-based and can can be deployed as a kiosk, POS terminal, digital signage display and more, AD Technologies said. Kioware for Android allows lockdown of Android devices into kiosk mode. Kioware’s lockdown limits Android applications by securing the home screen, browser and OS on self-service devices. An additional server component is designed for allowing remote content updates and GPS location, health and status monitoring.
"AD Technologies is excited to support KioWare for Android with our hardware device. The robust nature of the PROPORT tablet makes it the perfect solution for running KioWare's media intensive kiosk applications. The powerful combination of hardware and software provide a real one-two punch for businesses, and we see a huge growth potential in the purposed device market," said Dan McKean, Vice President of Sales at AD Technologies.
James Kruper, President of KioWare, said in the release, "KioWare has long identified an opportunity for Android tablet manufacturers to provide a commercial quality Android tablet for self-service and kiosk usage. We are excited to see that ADT's PROPORT tablet fills that gap with its robust commercial-grade construction."
