Nearly 9,000 football fans created videos at kiosks documenting their experiences at this year's Super Bowl in Indianapolis.
KIOSK Information Systems of Louisville Colo., built the phone-booth style kiosks, while nSixtydeveloped the custom programming utilizing touchscreen technology to capture the images along with email addresses. Videos from the kiosks were loaded to a Super Bowl Village YouTube channel, while the digital postcards were hosted on the Village's Flickr page.
The videos received more than 91,000 unique views of the videos and digital postcards, said Marketing Director Fran Kusala.
"We were averaging about 85 experiences per hour, which were loaded instantly to a queue that our partner agency, Raidious, used to review for content prior to posting," he said in a company press release. "Fans were receiving an email notification with a link to their postcard or video usually within an hour of recording it."
Aanalysis of views and sharing showed the top sources for views to be YouTube, Flickr, mobile devices and Facebook and that the numbers continued to climb well after the event.
