Kiosks prepare Babbage's Etc. for PlayStation 2 launch

GRAPEVINE, Texas - Before the highly-anticipated launch of Sony's PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, Babbage's Etc. gave customers a sneak preview.

Babbage's, a video game and entertainment software specialty retailer, allowed customers to try several of the upcoming games on in-store kiosks.

Along with new games, PlayStation 2 plays games from the original PlayStation system and DVD movies. It is scheduled for an Oct. 26 launch.

Across the nation, select Babbage's stores opened at midnight on Oct. 25 or early on Oct. 26 to accommodate customers who pre-ordered PlayStation 2. For customers who registered for the system at Babbage's www.gamestop.com Web site, the system will arrive at their homes on Oct. 26.
