Kiosks keep patients informed as NY doctors move to electronic medical records

Rochesterhomepage.net: As federal and New York state officials push for electronic medical records, 25 to 30 percent of hospital physicians in Rochester have made the switch. But that percentage is much lower among private doctors not ready for the price tag. There is an 18 month transition. Dr. Ali Loveys in Pittsford said she made the switch about 7 years ago and it revolutionized her practice: Patients start at a kiosk, snap a picture of themselves and look at their medical records with a click of a button. It allows both patient and doctor to know everything is up to date.
