The Minneapolis-based fitness technology company Fitness On Request was recently recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of this year's fastest-growing American companies, ranking No. 353 among U.S. companies and No. 6 within Minnesota.
Fitness On Request provides video-based programming and online management software via interactive kiosk and display technology. The system enables fitness centers to offer group exercise classes at any hour.
The touchscreen kiosk's library houses more than 100 pre-recorded fitness videos, paired with a high-definition projector, speakers and 120-inch screen that transforms video-based fitness into a life-size, group experience, according to the company's news release.
Class offerings include proprietary programs by Elements Fitness, as well as partner brands such as Jillian Michaels, Virtual Active and Zumba Fitness.
Yet while the company's video-based exercise solutions allow fitness centers to do more with less, Jason Campana, VP of Fitness On Request, said technology will never take the place of a live group fitness experience.
"What it will do is provide facilities of all sizes and budgets with an opportunity to offer more programs, more often, to engage more people than ever before," he said. "Our solution is attracting under-served and unlikely participants into the world of group fitness, and traditional group fitness programs will continue to reap the benefit of this movement alongside us."
