Kiosks aid medical staff at new center

February 1, 2011

Kiosks to help clinicians provide care are in each exam room of The Kaiser Permanente Capital Hill Medical Center that opened last week in Washington, D.C.

The center is wired with Kaiser Permanente EMR HealthConnect so staff can use the kiosks to identify risks to patients, such as potentially harmful drug combinations.

Patients also have access to their medical records, can make appointments, send e-mail to their physicians and order prescription refills online, through My Health Manager via the provider's online portal.
