Kiosk helps users create family tree for disease prevention

November 26, 2012

The Jerry Ryan Center for Prevention and Genetics at Choice Health and Fitness in Grand Forks, N.D., has installed a kiosk where users develop a family health portrait that helps them identify and trace genetic diseases.

According to an article on inforum.com, the kiosk assists with the organization of user information into a flow-chart-style family tree, giving a picture of personal health risks associated with illnesses such as heart disease, osteoporosis and cancer. The insight can give users the knowledge needed to make lifestyle choices to prevent or manage diseases.
