Kiosk at Montana cemetery helps locate Vietnam War veterans

November 30, 2017

On Wednesday, Don Derby, a Vietnam War veteran, showed a group of veterans a kiosk to help people locate the names of veterans on Bozeman’s Vietnam Wall replica, according to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. The kiosk sits under a stone shelter on the east side of the veterans memorials at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Bozeman, Montana.

The kiosk directs people to the locations of the 58,479 veterans who are listed on the Vietnam War Memorial, a replica of the wall that sits in Washington, D.C. There are about 2,400 veterans buried at Sunset Hills.

The kiosk cost almost $20,000 and was a joint effort between Derby, the Sunset Hills Cemetery Veterans Memorial Fund, the American Legion, city cemetery staff, the local chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America and veteran Dallas Thompson.
