Kiosk focuses on healthy eating, nutrition

May 1, 2004

PORTLAND, OR--Food, nutrition and recipe information are available at the flick of a finger through Foodnotes EasyAnswers Touchscreen kiosk.

This kiosk, by Healthnotes Inc., was developed with supermarkets in mind.  According to a company press release, the self-service machine runs the Foodnotes' applications that include meat and seafood, packaged goods and fresh produce.

"Supermarkets are in a unique position to provide consumers with both the products and information they need to make healthy lifestyle choices," said Schuyler Lininger, Healthnotes president and CEO.

The plug-and-play unit provides an information-rich environment. Customers can find information on more than 450 foods, as well as nutrition, healthy eating, special diets, weight control, and more. All three applications also offer hundreds of recipes that shoppers can print in-store free of charge.

Healtnotes' retail solutions are used in more than 6,500 supermarkets, pharmacies, and natural product stores in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

The EasyAnswers Touchscreen kiosk was originally launched in January. Attendees of the FMI Show, May 2-4, 2004 in Chicago, can see the new touchscreen models.
