Kiosk deployments up among c-stores

Convenience Store News: Convenience Store News' 2009 Technology Study reports that bill-payment kiosks are growing in popularity in the c-store space, with 4.4 percent of chains deploying the technology, up from 1.2 percent in 2008. Deployments of job-application kiosks also saw an increase, albeit a small one, to 2.2 percent over 1.6 percent in 2008.The study, which focuses on chain operations, looks at spending data from the last year and provides a 2009 forecast. In addition to kiosk deployments, the study covers POS and payment systems, automation technology and promotional spending.
