Kiosk at hub of new mobile phone store

February 18, 2002

MONTREAL - Canadian telecommunications provider TELUS Mobility has created a new look for its flagship retail store in Montreal, and a kiosk is at the center of the action.

The store was scheduled to celebrate its grand re-opening on Feb. 19 after being shut down for a major store renovation. Telus and design firm burdifilek teamed for the project.

The store now features spun aluminum light fixtures, brushed stainless steel and milky white surfaces, and 11-foot-by-15-foot glass wall at the back of the sales floor. In the center of the store is a Web-enabled kiosk that allows customers to study the Web-ready capabilities of the company's wireless phones.

"We believes this ambitious new design presents TELUS Mobility's nature-based theme and leading edge digital technology in a very engaging way," Paul Filek, burdifilek managing partner, said in a news release.

TELUS officials plan to implement the new store design at retail locations throughout Canada.
