Kansas City has deployed smart kiosks to provide local information to visitors. The kiosks are 7 feet tall, and were deployed downtown to welcome visitors to the Big 12 basketball championship, according to a report by Fox 4.

The kiosks are designed to provide information on restaurants, public transit, hotels and other lodging. The city plans to install 25 kiosks in total by Wednesday in the downtown area.

"If you know how to use a smartphone, you will have no problem here," said Chris Hernandez, spokesperson for the city government. "You just walk up; you'll see information flashing, you just tap it on what you want to explore further and it'll work for you very easily."
