PLANO, Texas - J. C. Penney Company Inc. is set to launch the largest branding event in the company's history, featuring a 15,000-square-foot virtual store in Times Square in New York City, star-studded special events and the kickoff of a new and innovative branding campaign, according to a news release.
On March 3, JCPenney will open the "JCPenney Experience" store, a showcase for its private and exclusive brands, at One Times Square (42nd Street and Broadway). The opening of this virtual store, in which shoppers can purchase the company's full range of merchandise at interactive kiosks, coincides with JCPenney's exclusive retail sponsorship, for the fifth year in a row, of the Academy Awards telecast airing on March 5. The company's three-week Broadway stay will run through March 26.
