Previously, theIowa Lottery ran into problems trying to deploy new touchscreen kiosks due to a law that banned lottery "monitor vending machines." Now, the Iowa Senate has passed a bill allowing the kiosks to be deployed, according to a report by KCCI.
The bill, titled House File 2146, was passed by a vote of 39 to 10. The new bill allows kiosks to print lottery, instant and pull-tab tickets. However, the law does not allow lottery kiosks to dispense cash.
The Iowa Lottery will be able to put this into effect as soon as the bill is officially put into effect, according to the report.
