WELLINGBOROUGH, England -- The Sloane Group's interactive division, Interface, has completed the UK phase of a new, interactive kiosk system for the Hertz car rental firm.
Each kiosk, or Driving Direction unit, gives Hertz customers detailed directions to their chosen destinations in their preferred languages, according to a company news release.
Interface's first phase went live in early October. The second phase, which was completed Nov. 8, placed the kiosks in European airports and other key Hertz locations. The company installed 52 units in nine European countries during a 20-day period.
The units are either freestanding or desk-mounted and have A4 thermal printing capabilities. Along with driving directions, users can access tips about places of interest, restaurants, accommodations and other travel information.
