InLink and British Telecom have developed a security algorithm to stop drug dealers from using InLink kiosks as transaction tools.
The kiosks provide free calling, fast Wi-Fi and phone-charging services, but quickly became tools for drug dealers, according to an Engadget report. One kiosk was reportedly used for a $1.68 million drug sale transaction.
The algorithm aims to block and disable what the vendors said are "antisocial" calls by identifying suspicious use and phone numbers. It’s now in place in all the InLinkUK kiosks, according to the report.
