Info Touch announces ZapLink expansion plans

September 15, 2002

BURNABY, British Columbia -- Full-service kiosk provider Info Touch Technologies Corp. (TSX Venture Exchange:IFT) will deploy up to 500 additional ZapLink Internet and services kiosks at Circle Kconvenience stores in three Western U.S. cities, the company disclosed on Sept. 16.

ZapLinks are currently deployed in 35 Circle K stores in the Phoenix area as part of a test launched in late 2001.

The company said the new kiosks will be deployed in Phoenix, Tucson, Ariz., and Las Vegas. The first stage of the deployment will include the placement of 100 kiosks by early 2003.

"Circle K's commitment to expand the ZapLink program is an endorsement of our conviction that there is strong consumer demand for e-services at the street level using self-service automation," Hamed Shahbazi, Info Touch chief executive officer, said in a news release.

ZapLink kiosks feature Internet and e-mail access along with a variety of services and retail applications, including shopping, bill payment, and Internet payphone capabilities.

[Editor's note: Info Touch Technologies became Tio Networks in April 2006.]
