Four BMV Connect kiosks in the foyer of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Mishawaka, Indiana, went live on Dec. 27, providing 24/7 customer access and printing license plate stickers instantaneously, according to the South Bend Tribune. The only other such center in Indiana opened a year ago at a Fort Wayne BMV branch.
The BMV announced that its new South Bend branch, scheduled to open Jan. 29 in the Broadmoor Plaza, will also have a 24-hour BMV Connect kiosk. The company will close its downtown branch after Jan. 26.
Thirty-one BMV branches in Indiana currently have the new kiosks in foyers with security cameras. The kiosks handled 225,000 transactions in 2017, increasing to 453,000 in 2018, said Courtney Meeks, deputy director of branch operations.
