Self-registration Web kiosks are helping reduce daily wait times and traffic at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi location, according to a report by Deccan Herald. The kiosks, installed in the outpatient area allow patients to schedule future appointments.
Patients can schedule appointments via the kiosks for most departments except for cardiology, neurology, oncology and dental, according to the report.
"Currently, 100-150 patients come here seeking appointments across various departments. The figures have improved from before as most people are learning about the system through word of mouth," said an employee of Tata Consultancy Services in an interview with Deccan Herald. "A significant number of people are also learning about it when they visit the OPDs. This will help divert the huge traffic of patients at the hospital."
