The providence of Karnataka, India, will soon install informational kiosks in jails to allow prisoners to view the details of their court cases, according to a report by NYOOOZ.
The kiosks will allow users to find important details such as the dates of their next hearings or judgments made by the court in previous cases. There are other kiosks like this at the High Court and other courts across Karnataka.
"This also means they need not depend on advocates or any external person to know when their case will be heard next or when a judgment can be expected," an anonymous official said in the report. "We are the first in India to implement this."
The kiosks are synced with the High Court Litigation Management System database, to allow users to access this information without getting on the Internet.
