Immediatek licenses MP3 music catalog to kiosk company

January 27, 2003

RICHARDSON, Texas -- Immediatek Inc. (OTCBB:IMDK) has licensed its catalog of 30,000 MP3 music files to MDU Service Inc. for the deployment of touchscreen kiosks that can dispense music CDs within seconds.

The kiosks, known as Automatic Dispensing Machines will change how CDs are burned and how music can be instantly purchased in stores, according to an Immediatek news release.

The kiosks, which resemble ATMs, will be located in high traffic areas such as malls, airports and major discount stories throughout the United States. Customers will be able to select music from thousands of musicians, choose individual songs and create a customized CD that is dispensed from the machine seconds after the credit card transaction is processed.

"Customers will view and hear their favorite songs and walk away with their own customized CD complete with cover art jacket and jewel case in a matter of minutes," Immediatek's CEO, Zach Bair, said in the release. "Plus, when a musician comes out with a new release, the kiosk has the ability to promote this new CD, all controlled from our centralized systems for speed and efficiency."

Immediatek also announced a deal to deploy the kiosks at Fort Lee, Va., home to the Combined Arms Support Command.
