Hypercom signs distribution deal with MCS

Scottsdale, Ariz., based Hypercom Corporation announced that MCS Micronic Computer Systeme GmbH will resell Hypercom's high security Artema Modular payment system in Germany. The Berlin-based MCS, Hypercom's first distribution partner in Germany for the self-service market, plans to initially deploy at least 1,000 of the units.

"MCS is a prominent and well-established authority in the consulting, design, production and implementation of parking, ticketing and other self-service machines," said Markus Hovekamp, vice president of Hypercom's global self-service business unit.

"With Hypercom, we are providing our customers with the highest quality solutions and a safe and convenient consumer purchasing experience," said Bernd Strossner, managing director of MCS.

Three of the major regional rail transit operators in Germany use Hypercom's Artema Modular self-service payment terminals with GPRS to speed ticketing in stations that serve more than 200 million travelers per year. In addition to deployments Europe, the Artema Modular is in use in self-service applications in the Middle East, Asia Pacific and North America.
