Hughes plans broadband kiosks in India

Sify Business: Communication firm Hughes Communication will roll out 1,000 broadband kiosks across India this year. The broadband kiosks will be linked using satellite technology and will offer high-speed Internet access for 25 paise (about half a U.S. cent) per minute. In addition to Internet access, the kiosks also will offer telephony services using VoIP technology.
