Telemedicine kiosk provider HealthSpot recently unveiled an integrated blood lab test for its kiosk. This test will be powered by the Samsung LABGEO P10, which can analyze a drop of patient blood from a finger stick, according to a report by HIT Consultant.
Once the device is approved by the FDA, customers will be able to run blood tests in less than 10 minutes, according to the report. "Adding labs to HealthSpot significantly enhances our mission to transform health care for consumers and providers," HealthSpot CEO Steve Cashman said in a statement. "We are transforming retail clinics into a true extension of the local medical community and widening the scope of services that can be offered via telehealth."
"The addition of blood analysis via Samsung's smart point-of-care technology will allow providers to go one step further for virtual exams inside the HealthSpot station and serve patients better than ever before," Cashman said. HealthSpot kiosks are currently deployed at a variety of retailers.
