Healthnotes, Retec team for U.K. project

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Healthnotes Inc. has selected Retec Europe Limited as its exclusive distributor to large chain supermarkets and pharmacies in the U.K.

Retec is a leading supplier of interactive and display technologies for retail environments, according to a Healthnotes news release.

The Healthnotes suite offers shoppers information on vitamin supplements, herbal remedies, healthy eating and self-care options. More than 6,500 supermarkets, pharmacies and natural product stores in the United States, Canada and the U.K. use Healthnotes' retail applications, according to the release.

Retec, founded in 2000, pioneered the use of barcode scanning technology to retrieve product information.
