PORTLAND, Ore. -- Health and wellness information provider Healthnotes Inc., maintaining a robust relationship with one of its partners, announced on Aug. 21 that it had reached a multiyear agreement to provide health and lifestyle information for nutrition retailer The Vitamin Shoppe.
Under the deal, Healthnotes information will continue to be accessible through The Vitamin Shoppe's Web site and at interactive kiosks set up at the retailer's 114 locations. Details of the deal were not disclosed.
The Vitamin Shoppe, which has offered Healthnotes' products since 1999, anticipates expanding to 130 stores in 14 states by the first quarter of 2003. Healthnotes kiosks will be available in each new location.
Healthnotes will also expand its presence on The Vitamin Shoppe's Web site under the new agreement, and will be targeted to specific areas of the site.
Jeffrey Horowitz, The Vitamin Shoppe's founder and chief executive officer, said his customers trust Healthnotes' information and have grown to rely on it during the past three years.
"We know our customers are information gatherers with an active interest in their overall well being," Horowitz said in a news release. "By offering Healthnotes, we allow them an opportunity to learn more about vitamins, supplements, sports nutrition, drug interactions, and much more, in order to make appropriate personal choices."
Based in Portland, Ore., Healthnotes provides health, wellness, food, and nutrition information to more than 6,500 supermarkets, pharmacies, and other retail outlets through North America, the UK, and other parts of the English-speaking world.
