SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- East Coast grocery chain Price Chopper will deploy a self-service kiosk solution that includes software applications for deli ordering, product research and item searches.
According to a news release, IBM Corp. will provide the kiosk hardware and Adusa will supply the self-serve apps.
Mona Golub, manager of public relations and consumer services at Price Chopper, said the kiosks have "exhibited superior architecture and functionality" and created "dynamic self-service opportunities for supermarket consumers."
She noted that self-service allows customized control of the shopping experience. The release did not say where or when the units will appear.
