Virginia based startup Card Isle plans to deploy its custom greeting card kiosks at five 7-Eleven locations in Blacksburg, Radford and Roanoke, Virginia, according to a report by Roanoke.com. The kiosk allows users to design and print their own greeting cards.
Card Isle was founded by three Virginia Tech engineering students and its first kiosk was rolled out two years ago at a natural foods store in Blacksburg, Virginia. The kiosk is designed to provide custom greeting cards to users. Users can create their own text and select from thousands of artwork choices created by local artists.
According to co-founder Adam Donato, the kiosk is designed to eliminate the need for a separate aisle in retailers for cards. Donato believes this deployment to 7-Eleven will help expose the kiosk to a larger audience.
Since the creation of Card Isle, it has raised more than $500,000 in investments, according to the report.
